How to Slowly Win at Roulette: The Steady Path
Are you a beginner at roulette? This article is for you!
I remember my beginnings. Although roulette is a pretty simple game, I had a problem understanding how things work. Unfortunately, the biggest issue of all back then was the lack of a cautious and measured approach. If you could go back in time, I would certainly change that.
Fortunately, you are in the same place as I was. That is the reason I want to explain why such an approach to this game is essential. I’d also like to share a few tips that will simplify the start of your journey.
Adopting a Low-Risk Betting Strategy 1600
Beginners must start with small steps. There is no place for major risks, even if you have a larger budget. Here is what you need to do to play roulette with peace of mind.
Focusing on Even-Money Bets
Beginners should refrain from placing wagers on the numbers. Indeed, guessing the pocket where the ball will land can increase your bet a lot. At the same time, it can cause larger losses, which is wise to avoid at this stage of your gambling career.
Instead, focus on options where the chances of winning are 50:50. That includes three different even-money bets:
- Red or Black: Discarding 0 and 00, half of the numbers are red, and half are black. You can double your bet this way.
- Odd or Even: Things are clear here. You will only lose if the ball lands on the pocket of zero. Just like in the previous case, profit is twice your wager.
- High or Low: All the numbers are divided into two categories: low (from 1 to 18) and high (19 to 36).
Consistent Betting Amounts
Calculate your budget adequately to determine the amount of money you can invest per round. After you do that, I recommend practicing consistent betting amounts. This way, beginners will practice their self-discipline. At the same time, they can learn how to monitor and analyze their spending eventually.
The Paroli System
This is one of the slightly advanced roulette strategies that I recommend to newbies. Don’t worry; there is nothing complicated about it. The Paroli system suggests that players should double their stake after every win.
In case they lose, they have to get back to the initial bet. In other words, players are spending the money they get from the casino. 50:50 wagers are the best for this betting system.
Bankroll Preservation Techniques
Logically, you need to organize your budget appropriately. The more important thing is to respect the plans that you have made.
Setting Daily Win/Loss Limits
For each roulette session that you have during the month, set the minimum and maximum limits for both wins and losses.
I, personally, calculate how much I can spend for each session. Hence, I don’t hesitate to spend everything. Yet, if you deposit your monthly budget at once, you need to be strict here. In my opinion, there is no reason to do such a thing.
A more influential thing is when you will leave a casino.
I am usually satisfied with tripling my initial bet. If I start with $500, I leave the casino when I reach $1500. Partially withdrawing your funds is also a wise decision. In this case, I would withdraw $1000 and continue gambling with $500.
Dividing Bankroll into Sessions
I need to get back to the monthly budget for a second. You must know how much money you can spend in 30 days. Another important thing is to define how many roulette sessions you will have each month.
Example: If your budget is $1000, and you plan to gamble five times a month, each session should be $200.
I will let you make your own calculations because I don’t know how often you plan to play roulette. I can only tell you that you must strictly respect your plans.
Reinvesting Small Winnings
Many people will probably tell you, “Be happy with every dollar you get”. Yes, you should be happy, but that doesn’t mean you should make withdrawals immediately.
Of course, if you multiply your bet 5 times, why would you stay and try to make more? However, I recommend reinvesting small winnings if you turn $100 into $200. You won’t lose much even if you experience a losing streak after that. If your risk pays off, you can profit even more!
Patience and Discipline in Play
Did you know that a stargazer buries itself almost completely while it awaits its prey for hours? Patience is the key, independent of your level of gambling with roulette.
Avoiding the Temptation of Big Bets
I remember some of my first roulette sessions. I managed to win 5 times in a row. The adrenaline rush made me raise my bets to get even more money. I lost everything in the blink of an eye.
Don’t expect to become a millionaire in 20 minutes. Big bets can be made only if you have experience and money. If your budget is limited, why would you reduce the length of your gambling sessions? Stay on the ground when you either lose or win.
Sticking to Your Strategy
I usually recommend people adjust their strategy to a specific scenario that could happen at a roulette table. However, that advice counts only for experienced players.
Beginners should not experiment with things too much. Instead, you should apply the same strategy for the first couple of sessions. After you see how things work with roulette, it is fine to change certain things.
Handling Emotional Responses
Life goes on is a quote I regularly repeat to myself while gambling. It doesn’t really matter how much you win or lose. Your responses to different scenarios should always be calm.
I would rather not tell you not to get nervous. Everyone gets crazy during a losing strike. Yet, leave the table when you feel that way. Gambling, in general, is a source of fun. It is not the point to lose your nerves and put your entire balance on the red color.
Maximizing Time at the Table
To successfully start the sessions, you need to have three things in mind. You must know how to recognize a good roulette table, when to take breaks, and how to use every opportunity to learn something new.
Selecting Tables with Favorable Conditions
As I said, it is not always a good time to spend a lot of money on roulette. That’s why you should look for tables with lower minimum bets. I started playing at tables that allowed me to use chips for just $1. That limit allowed me to experiment with different strategies over time.
Another thing you should pay attention to is the speed of the game pace. Imagine that you have 10 seconds to decide. Would that be enough? Look for those tables where the breaks between rounds are at least half a minute.
Taking Regular Breaks
Limit the length of your gaming sessions. Plays longer than 2.5 hours are, in my opinion, unreasonable. No one says that you have to play all the time. Instead, learn what is the best moment to take a break.
The level of focus can’t be the same all the time. Make a 5-minute break every half an hour. Do that as well when you notice that your concentration is getting lower and lower.
If “time-out” does not help, leave the table and come back later.
Observing the Game
Focus isn’t only important for monitoring and managing your funds. Observation will help you analyze the patterns and decisions other players make. You can read tons of articles like this. The real lessons are those that you get during gameplay.
Long-Term Perspective
Being better at roulette is a long-lasting process. That’s why you need to make plans in the long run. That’s the only way to strengthen your roulette skills.
Setting Realistic Goals
Your primary goal should be to have fun. With such an approach, things will be much easier. You won’t get nervous all the time for not accomplishing your mini-goals.
Still, that doesn’t mean you should gamble without a play. You need to define what “winning” means for you. No, you ain’t going to make millions in 2 months. More precisely, you will probably lose more money than win it initially. That’s a normal part of the process we have all passed through.
Maintaining discipline is vital: realistic goals will help you achieve that.
Recording Your Results
All you need to record your roulette results is a simple Excel document.
I added a short note next to the “win and lose” cells, highlighting the main things that happened during my roulette sessions. I write down if I get nervous, why I lost that much money, how long I played, and so on.
Adjusting Strategies as Needed
For the first ten sessions, don’t change anything. Simply keep the same strategy and use every moment to learn something new. Subsequently, get ready to be flexible and adjust or develop new strategies as necessary.
A perfect roulette tactic does not exist. Remember that. Just because you made a profit once with a particular strategy doesn’t guarantee you will do that again.
And Now?
Beginners must approach this game patiently. There is no room to accelerate the entire process. Enjoy every roulette variant you play and try to learn a lesson from it. Analyze what other players do and organize your budget correctly.
